Happy Spring!

As soon as flowers begin blooming and bees start buzzing, we want to bring all of those beautiful florals indoors. Having florals in the home is not only beautiful, but it is also a natural form of stress management and a mood booster. Research shows that flowers can increase positive emotions, reduce anxiety, and improve productivity.

Whether it be in your dining room, bathroom, entry, or bedroom, there is always an opportunity to add a bouquet. The most important considerations when adding florals to your space are scale, style, and practicality. Let’s explore that further!

Scale

Florals can be small and contained, or more wild and broad! Depending on where the arrangement is going, you may want to go one direction over the other. For example, if you want a floral arrangement on your bedside table, you might want something that doesn’t take up too much space so you still have room for a lamp, book, or glass of water. Whereas if you are adding a bouquet to a large kitchen island, you might want to branch out and have something that takes up more physical and visual space!

Style

Different varieties of flowers, vase styles, and techniques in floral arrangements look different! For example, a tight bouquet of roses looks and feels very different than a free-flowing grouping of tree branches. If you want your space to feel more formal, consider something with a little more restraint. Or a long-stem grouping of a variety of colorful florals for something more casual. Also, use vases that resonate with your personal style!

Practicality

This is all about considering a faux arrangement versus a real floral arrangement. When looking at all the florals and indoor plants in our portfolio, you might be surprised to learn that most of them are fake! Our clients typically prefer a few well-placed faux bouquets that will always look good, and these days, faux plants look really realistic. That means they are a perfect option for a spot that doesn’t get good lighting, or that you know you will always want flowers!
