Chic Contemporary Oasis

Summary: This contemporary interior design project in Sacramento began with a brand-new home full of potential. At first, the space felt clean and open, but it needed warmth, depth, and personality.  Our client loved a neutral color palette and contemporary design. However, she did not want the home to feel cold or sterile. Instead, she wanted a space that felt polished, inviting, and comfortable for everyday living.

The home already had a strong foundation. White walls and sleek grey tile flooring created a fresh, modern backdrop. From there, we added layers of texture, contrast, and warmth.  To create a bold focal point, we painted the dining room walls black. As a result, the room gained instant drama and sophistication. The dark walls also helped balance the lighter tones throughout the home.  We also worked with several pieces the client already owned. These included her sectional, console table, and dining set. Rather than starting from scratch, we blended these existing pieces with new furnishings and accessories.

Next, we brought the living spaces to life with carefully selected rugs, plush pillows, artwork, and faux greenery. In addition, we chose accent furniture and decorative accessories that added comfort and style. Each piece was selected with intention, so the home felt cohesive and complete.

Near the front door, we created an inviting entry moment. This area now welcomes guests as soon as they arrive. It also sets the tone for the home’s chic contemporary style.  Later, when the backyard was transformed, we extended the design outdoors. We furnished the outdoor living area to feel connected to the interior spaces. As a result, the home now offers a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living.

The finished design is warm, refined, and functional. Most importantly, it reflects the client’s lifestyle while delivering the feeling of everyday luxury.
