Here at Rebecca Ward Design, we consider ourselves to be readers. Being interior designers, we feel qualified to discuss the dream design features and decor items for readers!
First of all, the decor. There are so many cute bookish decor items on the market – we own quite a few of them ourselves! Here are a few of our favorites, including bookshelf lamps, art, and themed drink coasters. Rebecca gifted Lilly, who loves Pride and Prejudice, a version of the vase below, which she still loves!
Reader Art | Bookcase Lamp | Romance Mug
Book Coasters | Library Candle | Novel Vase
Now, to drool over pretty interiors! Who doesn’t love a built-in bench nook surrounded by bookcases, or a bookcase with a ladder where you can pretend to be Belle. All you really need is a place to showcase your books and somewhere cozy to sit and read, and you’re set.
That being said, we really love when art is beautifully incorporated into a bookcase and when there is lighting integrated into the bookcase. It is that extra attention to detail that really makes a custom bookcase shine! Here are a few of our favorite book nooks from Pinterest:

In case you don’t know, you can purchase freestanding bookcases with a ladder!! Like this one from Scout and Nimble, but there are many on the market in all different styles!
If you are a reader, we hope this post brought a spark of joy thinking about your favorite books and how you might incorporate them into your home. Please tell us what your favourite book is!
XOXO,
