Kitchen Design
Not only did this kitchen get a complete makeover, but it also moved to a new location in this home! Below you can see the style of the original kitchen, but it was located in the middle of what became the great room. You can also see the location of the new kitchen below which was a blank slate by the time we were brought onto the project.
The new design of the kitchen provides much more storage and is extremely functional. The new island has a prep sink in it, as well as a microwave. All of the new appliances are black stainless and are accompanied by a beautiful custom metal range hood cover made by Wildwood Customs. Our client’s love for industrial design influenced the finish choices, but it still feels perfectly homey.
Dining Room Design
Like many other spaces in this project, the area that became the dining room wasn’t the original location of the dining room, but it was a perfect little niche for a dining table! It got new flooring, paint, and trim instantly freshening it up. We also replaced the light fixture with a recessed light and sourced new furniture and art!
Family Room Design
The family room location didn’t move locations, but it was expanded! The exterior wall was moved out a couple feet to give the room more space and windows and doors were adjusted in the process to add more light. The fireplace was tiled over and given a new insert and cabinets were built-in around the fireplace for additional storage with the TV going above the left-side cabinet and shelves above the right cabinet.
New flooring and paint transformed the space further, recessed lights and a new fan were added, and all new furniture was brought in! We decided to add a desk behind the sofa to create a work zone that allows our client to sit and watch TV or hang out with the family while going through the mail or getting a little work done!
