Happy New Year! I’m sure you have heard the saying, “New Year, New You” which we have mixed feelings about, but in general feel like it’s encouraging that at any time, but especially in the new year, you can grow and change for the better! Growth is something that is so important to us that it is a core value at Rebecca Ward Design and you can see it listed in our mission statement:
“Our Mission Statement at Rebecca Ward Design is to enhance the lives of busy families and help them thrive in their home by creating inspiring, beautiful, and purposeful interiors through expert design. Our Core Values of Kindness, Growth, Integrity, Creativity, and Teamwork guide and govern our daily tasks and actions, shaping our approach to work and interactions with clients.”
What growth means to us is, “We foster an environment of continuous learning and growth for ourselves and our clients, embracing the growth mindset and seeking ways to improve our own lives and the lives of our clients.”
That being said, we love thinking of new ways to grow and have a few simple ideas that have helped us and we would love to share them with you!
- Start a new hobby. We’ve started watercoloring as a hobby and really enjoy it! It keeps our creative juices flowing, and is just plain fun. Rebecca has also started playing golf, which brings her joy. Have some sort of hobby that brings you happiness outside of work is important, so pick up a hobby if you don’t already have one!
- Use a planner. We use the Full Focus Planner and love it! Having a planner keeps us on track with what we need to get done each day, but also with our overall life goals.
- Drink water. You can always be drinking more water! We are trying to improve this for ourselves and got a water dispenser for our office last year and it has really helped. Also, make sure you have a water bottle that you love – it will help you drink more water!
- Read. We have reading goals every year and love how it gets our brains moving in new ways, and brings so much enjoyment! Some favorite books we read last year and would recommend reading are Gifts of Imperfection, Project Hail Mary, What Alice Forgot, Thursday Murder Club, and The Hobbit.
We hope you have an amazing 2025 filled with laughter, happy memories, and beautiful interiors!
XOXO,
