We know it may seem early, but now is the time to start thinking about what design projects you want to do next year! If you’ve been considering a smaller project, you should start now to finish your project early next year. For a larger project, if you start now, you’ll be done in time for Summer!
If you haven’t worked with a designer before, the important thing to remember is that you need to incorporate time for your designer to develop your design. During our design process, we are not only coming up with the look and feel of your space through finish and furniture selections, but we are also drawing all the construction documents, getting bids, ordering samples, and preparing all estimates for your review.
To help illustrate this, here is the breakdown for project timelines:
DESIGN PHASE: 6-8 weeks
FINALIZING ORDERS: 1-2 Weeks
PROCESSING: 1 Week
WHOLESALE FURNITURE: 8-12 weeks
BIDDING: Contractors often take about 2-4 weeks to get back to us with numbers.
RENOVATION:
- SMALLER RENOVATION (renovating 1-2 rooms) TIMELINE: 8-12 weeks from the start of construction to finish.
- LARGER RENOVATION (renovating 3 or more rooms) TIMELINE: 4-6 months from start of construction to finish.
- WHOLE HOUSE RENOVATION TIMELINE: 9-12 months from start of construction to finish.
As you can see, it’s a process, and a process that takes time! However, we always feel like it’s worth the wait.
