The before and after of this kitchen is one of our favorites! This kitchen had a gorgeous view from the beginning but was a little cramped, hindering its functionality. We knew immediately that there was so much potential for making it beautiful and functional. Taking over the space of the adjacent dining nook doubled the size of the kitchen, but to do this, the floor levels had to change to make them all level. We also altered the ceiling level in the kitchen so it was cohesive with the adjacent spaces and didn’t feel so cramped.
Central to the redesign is the addition of a large kitchen island. Its expansive size provides ample workspace for meal prep and entertaining, making it a perfect hub for family gatherings and culinary adventures. The kitchen has been designed to take full advantage of the breathtaking lake views outside, with strategically placed windows allowing natural light to flood the space. The openness and flow of the design invite a seamless connection between the indoors and outdoors, enhanced even more by the sliding accordion window.
The clients love coffee, so a hidden coffee nook has been thoughtfully incorporated into the design, providing a charming spot for morning coffee and pastries. The teal fish scale accent tile coordinates with the stunning tile on the back wall of the range niche. Rich, earthy tones dominate the space, with new terracotta floor tiles featuring hand-painted accent tiles. Wood cabinetry and archway accents maintain the traditional Spanish aesthetic.
The remodel balances old-world charm with modern touches, offering a functional yet beautiful kitchen that blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings. This creates a space that is both inviting and practical for everyday living.
