Zen Modern Manor

Summary: This zen modern interior design project began with a conventional tract home that needed character, warmth, and style. At first, the home felt simple and expected. However, our clients saw its potential.  They originally purchased the home as an Airbnb investment property and second home. It was meant to be a comfortable place for the family to stay while visiting loved ones. However, by the end of the project, they loved it too much to rent it out.

Our clients were drawn to both zen design and mid-century modern style. Therefore, our goal was to create a home that felt calm, timeless, and full of personality. We wanted every space to feel peaceful, but never plain.  Clean lines gave the home a fresh and modern foundation. Natural textures added warmth and balance. In addition, vibrant hues brought energy, joy, and character to each room.  Wallpaper played an important role in the transformation. We used it in key spaces, including the office, laundry room, and primary bedroom. As a result, these rooms gained depth, pattern, and a distinct sense of personality.

The dining room also became a standout space. A bold blue accent wall added drama and contrast. Meanwhile, a statement chandelier helped elevate the room and create a memorable focal point.  Custom drapery brought softness and polish throughout the home. In addition, carefully selected light fixtures added style and ambiance. These details helped each space feel more refined, layered, and complete.

Throughout the home, we balanced serenity with sophistication. The zen-inspired elements created a calm atmosphere. At the same time, the mid-century modern details kept the design fresh, stylish, and timeless.  In the end, Zen Modern Manor became a peaceful and personal retreat. It now blends clean lines, natural texture, vibrant color, and thoughtful details in a way that feels warm, elevated, and deeply livable.
