Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I hire an interior designer?

Hiring an interior designer brings clarity, expertise, and creative direction to a process that often involves hundreds of decisions. Our role is to help you avoid costly missteps, create a cohesive vision, and guide the details so your home feels both beautiful and functional when the project is complete. How much will it cost me?

Every project is unique, and investment depends on the size, scope, timeline, and level of design support needed. During the inquiry and consultation process, we discuss your goals and investment range so we can recommend the right path forward.

For construction-based projects, contractor pricing is determined through bids once the project scope and design direction are established. Our team is happy to discuss design fees and anticipated project investment during the inquiry process.

Here is a very useful furniture guide to help you develop a budget, and this guide can help to give you an idea of the cost of an average project.

What is the difference between an interior designer and a decorator?

Interior design considers how a space functions, flows, and supports the people who live there. It may include space planning, finish selections, construction details, furnishings, lighting, and collaboration with contractors or trades.

Decorating focuses primarily on the furnishings and decorative layers within a space. At Rebecca Ward Design, our work often includes both.  We love creating homes that are thoughtfully planned, beautifully finished, and personal to our clients.

I don’t need to redo my whole house, just one room.  Is that ok?

Yes, when the scope is the right fit for our studio. We work on full-service room transformations, remodels, furnishings projects, and whole-home designs. During the inquiry process, we will help determine whether your project is aligned with the level of service we provide.

Are references available?

Yes. We are happy to provide references when appropriate, and you can also read kind words from past clients on our Praise page.
